Player Development Centre for Girls

The Colchester United Girls Player Development Centre (PDC) was established in 2006 and is now split into four age groups - U10’s, U12’s, U14’s and U16’s.

The Girls PDC is an invitation-only programme and is designed to provide weekly advanced coaching to the best female footballers in Essex who are not contracted to a Female Centre of Excellence.

The PDC links in to, and feeds, the Colchester United Female Centre of Excellence. The training and coaching provided at the PDC aims to challenge both technically and tactically giving young players the potential to make the next step up to Centre of Excellence level.

In 2007/08, four PDC players made the step up to the Colchester United Centre of Excellence:

Miagh Downey (U10)
Georgina Morton (U10)
Lucianna Long (U10)
Francesca Coombs (U12).
