Coach Education
All coach education courses are run by Essex FA. Outlined below are some of the courses that are run from Shrub End Community & Sports Centre.
1st 4 Sport Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football (L1CCF) and 1st 4 Sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football (L2CCF).
The 1st 4 Sport Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football is a 27 hour course for people aged 16 and over. It is awarded in partnership with the FA and is the first rung on the coaching ladder.
This qualification provides you with the opportunity to study and be assessed in both practical and theoretical aspects of coaching football. There are no pre-requisites to join this course.
The course will teach you a range of skills from how to safely organise and supervise football activities including mini soccer, small sided games and conditional games to understanding different aspects of coaching children.
The 1st 4 Sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football (L2CCF) is the next progression on the coaching ladder. The qualification offers candidates a combination of practical experience and class-based theory to develop an understanding of the planning, conducting and evaluation of ethical football coaching sessions.
The practical element of this course is physically demanding and candidates should be reasonably fit.
There are no pre-requisites to join the course but students are required to hold a Safeguarding Children and Emergency Aid Certificate before their final assessment.
The course runs for 90 hours and is for people aged 17 and over and will help you to develop an appreciation of the ethical coaching process, promote and establish positive working relationships at all levels and demonstrate an understanding of the principles of attack and defence through the use of practices and small sided games among other skills.
