Holiday Activities
Colchester United Community Sports Trust have an array of exciting activities taking place in Colchester and Clacton.
The sessions, run by Colchester United Community Sports Trust, give children the chance to learn new skills while having fun in a safe environment.
Corin Haines, Sports Participation Manager, said: “Our holiday courses are designed to make sport fun, and give the children a real sense of achievement as they learn new skills. Hundreds of children take part in these activities each holiday and really enjoy the wide range of activities we have on offer.”
Soccer Camps
A great way for children to get active enjoying the sport they love, with technical skills and competitions. The courses create the ideal environment for children to learn and have fun at the same time.
Soccer Camps offer:
- Coaching for all abilities both male and female in school years 2-7 from our FA-qualified CUCST team
- Includes a free CUFC child’s match ticket voucher for all participants
- Certificate for all participants
- Chance to compete for trophies and medals
- Opportunities to be selected for our Advanced Coaching Programmes
- Possibility of player appearances (depending on availability)
- Possibility of meeting CUFC mascot Eddie the Eagle (depending on availability)
- Book early to avoid disappointment
What to bring and wear:
- Suitable worn clothing to take part in physical activity
- Food snacks and drinks no fizzy drinks please
- Suitable footwear i.e. trainers or football boots
Train like a Pro NEW!
New for October 2010 onwards this holiday activity is for players that are at secondary school who wish to experience training like a professional footballer. The course will include more advanced sessions testing both technical and tactical game understanding, players attending will also receive information on how to prepare for a match along with diet and nutritional guidance.

Multi-Sports Fun Day
The CUCST Multi-Sports Fun Day is a fantastic way for children to spend a school holiday on a fun and exciting one day fun day. There will be an opportunity for children to participate in a variety of sports and activities to help them develop their sporting and personal skills whilst gaining confidence in a friendly and safe environment.
Mini Kickers
Mini Kickers is for children in school year Reception - Year 2 providing an introductory course to children who enjoy playing football. Mini Kickers helps youngsters to improve fundamental movements, listening, social and basic football skills, with CUCST team of enthusiastic coaches ensuring that children learn through playing fun games, competitions and matches. During this fun and active course children will participate in small sided games.
Tournament Days
- For boys and girls – School Years 2-9
- Whole day of playing small-sided matches
- Players play in their own age group and are placed in teams
- Free CUFC child’s match ticket voucher for all players
- Most Valuable Player Awards to be won
Goalkeepers Camp
Our Goalkeeper’s Camp, will cover all areas of the goalkeeping syllabus and challenge young goalkeepers of all abilities. The course will include ball familiarity, technical practices, communication, understanding the role of the goalkeeper, and small sided games. All sessions will be delivered by FA-qualified goalkeeping coaches who will deliver practices that are age and ability appropriate.

All of our holiday activities take place at either the Weston Homes Community Stadium, Shrub End Community & Sports Centre, Clacton Leisure Centre or Braintree Leisure Centre.
