CUFC Player Interviews

Questionnaire For Eddie

What is your favourite healthy breakfast?

As an eagle I do like to eat meat and fish, so a cheeky herring as the sun comes up goes down a treat. In the winter months porridge can’t be beaten for me as it helps to warm up my wings for the day ahead, whereas during the summer season seeds and fruit are a delicious way to start the day.

What is your favourite healthy snack?

From hanging around with the players during the day, I get fed lots of energy boosting snacks, once again dried nuts and berries do give me energy, as well a nice healthy drink of water from the bird table at regular intervals normally does the trick.

What’s the best thing about being Colchester united mascot?

It’s great to live and work in this brilliant new stadium we have, I get to meet new people and go to new places which is brilliant, but the best part of my job has to be walking around the pitch just before the game trying to get the crowd going for the match ahead! (I like watching the games too!).

What’s your favourite way to keep fit?

I do a lot of running around on Matchday that’s a great way to keep fit, but lots of training for the mascot race means im keeping nice and fit and you can’t beat a good kick about with your mates, that’s a great way to keep fit!

Why is it important to keep healthy?

Keeping yourself healthy is one of the most important things you can do as if you look and feel good there’s no better feeling you can have and when you get that feeling you will never want to let it go!

What advice would you give to someone who wants to get more active?

You have got to find something which you really enjoy doing, this means you will have an interest in this so you will be willing to get involved, if its football or swimming for example there are lots of clubs you can join where not only can you get more active but you can meet different people and make new friends through it so overall it’s a great idea to get more active, so anyone who is in two minds should get out there and go for it

My children had a wonderful time at your kids club over the summer with your wonderful staff. I can't thank you enough as I had previously struggled so much with tears elsewhere.
