CUCST Female Football Programme

Female Football programming at CUCST has never been stronger with a complete player development pathway from grass roots to FA Women’s Premier League level all under one roof. An introduction to the game is on offer through our school, club and holiday girls only activities from which young girls can follow in the footsteps of countless other female footballers who have worked their way through CUCST’s proven female player development programmes.

CUCST boasts a variety of programmes for all age and ability levels running grass roots programming, a Player Development Centre, an FA Girls’ Centre of Excellence, a Female Academy Goals programme and is also home to Colchester United Ladies FC who play in the FA Women’s Premier League.

Grass Roots  

CUCST runs girls only holiday soccer schools every school holiday. Coaching at the courses is provided by highly qualified and experienced members of the female football coaching team. In addition our female football coaching staff are available for in, school club and other activities. These sessions can provide talent ID opportunities for our Player Development Centre and Centre of Excellence programmes.

Player Development Centre (PDC)

The PDC provides keen female footballers ages 6-16 the opportunity to experience weekly training sessions on a par with those delivered at the Colchester United Girls’ Centre of Excellence. The sessions are delivered by our highly qualified staff who also monitor talented players for consideration for the Centre and several players have moved into the Centre of Excellence from the PDC.

Sessions are held Saturday mornings during term time from 10-11:30am on our 4G astro pitch at Shrub End.

Colchester United FA Girls’ Centre of Excellence

The Centre of Excellence programme is run in partnership with the Football Association and offers talented female players exposure to international scouting, the very best in coaching, a national fixture programme against other centres and a full support network of sports science, physiotherapy, athlete education and more. To date the Colchester United Girls Centre of Excellence programme has produced 12 international players as well as countless players that go on to represent the club at Academy and Full Senior level.

Colchester United Female Academy Goals Programme

The Academy Goals programme provides a structured education and football development programme for 16-19 year olds who combine both academic study and participation in an elite level football academy.

Colchester United Ladies FC

Formed in 1992 and now fully under the umbrella of CUCS, the Colchester United Ladies Football Club has enjoyed a meteoric rise to the FA Women’s Premier League following a South East Combination league and cup double in 2006/7. The club has enjoyed success both at home and abroad securing the Essex County Cup title in 2008 as well as a World Youth Cup U-19 title in Gothenburg, Sweden the same year.

I love Soccer Kids. We play at the stadium and I learn all my favourite skills.
