Creative Partnerships Haven Gateway

Creative Partnerships Haven Gateway is here to make a difference. It inspires young people, the teaching profession and the arts community to work together innovatively to raise aspirations, nurture imagination and develop thinking skills. Together our aim is to grow creative citizens who will have a voice and a place in the Haven Gateway region, and who will develop the life skills necessary to be valuable contributors to their communities. Education is a young person’s gateway to their future and so through promoting creative learning, we will enable young people to take the opportunities and face the challenges of the world that they are growing into.

Our aims at Haven Gateway are to:

Creative Partnerships Haven Gateway began its programme in 2005 in Tendring and has since worked with over fifty schools from Tendring, Colchester and Ipswich. We are currently working with twenty-three Change schools and thirty-six Enquiry schools.

Creative Partnerships Haven Gateway since July 2009 has been based at Colchester United Community SportsTrust. We work in conjunction on a number of programmes. We share a belief that together we can raise aspirations and inspire talent through sport, creativity and education which nurtures imagination and improves opportunities for young people and their communities across the Haven Gateway sub region.

From September 2010 we will be working with a further forty-four schools in the enquiry school programme from across the wider Haven Gateway. This will include schools from Tendring, Colchester, Braintree and Maldon in Essex, and Babergh, Mid Suffolk, Ipswich and Suffolk Coastal in Suffolk. We are currently recruiting schools from these areas to the Enquiry School Programme.

I have MS and after my last attack I lost all of my confidence and there were some things I just couldn't do. The keep fit sessions with Angie have really helped. The Monday sessions are really good as they help you to keep active. The most important thing though is the company.
