Sporting fun for all this summer holiday
Colchester United Community Sports Trust will be out and about this summer hosting a range of sporting activities in locations throughout the borough.
The aim is to provide sporting activities during school holidays that are available to all, at a minimal cost and to a high standard. As a result there are lots of activities that cost just £1, and others that are completely free.
The fun, friendly sessions will take place at
- Shrub End Community and Sports Centre
- Monkwick Adizone
- St Annes MUGA
- Weston Homes Community Stadium
- Sir Charles Lucas School
- Grove Road park in Tiptree
- Tiptree Sports Centre
- Old Heath Recreation Ground
- Highwoods Sports Centre.
Activities range from Streetball and multi sports to disability football and are aimed at young people aged 6 to 18.
David Streetley, Community Inclusion Manager, said: “At CUCST, we believe that sport can teach children and young people all of the necessary life skills they need for them to develop as individuals. Using sport as the tool, our community inclusion programme aims to help children and young people develop their self esteem, confidence, motivation and discipline while learning how to work as part of a team and enjoy a healthier lifestyle.”
