Overview
At CUCST, we aim to provide sporting activities that are available to all, at a minimal cost and to a high standard. Our sessions are fun, friendly and aim to get everyone to join in. All of our sessions are game based, challenging and enable participants to learn from the game.
At CUCST, we teach more than just sport. We believe that sport can teach people of all ages the necessary life skills they need for them to develop as individuals. Using sport as the tool, our community inclusion programme aims to help children, young people and adults develop;
- Self esteem, confidence, motivation and discipline;
- An increased sense of belonging;
- Teamwork and social skills;
- Positive relationships with adults and other agencies;
- A sense of achievement and of what is achievable;
- A healthier lifestyle.
Our current list of funded programmes as of September 2010 includes;
- Positive Futures - Opportunities for young people aged 10-19 years to be involved in sporting activities in the Tendring area during term time and school holidays.
- CBC (Colchester Borough Council) – Opportunities for young people aged 6-19 years to engage in local sporting activities during term time and school holidays in the Colchester Borough.
