ACP Elite (Thurstable) Vs Amersham and Wycombe

October 7th 2009

It was a tough first half with Wycombe putting on the pressure from the start; they were dominating with possession and creating chances. Wycombe were finding it hard to break through a strong Thurstable defense and with an on form Ben Elmer in goal, who made some understanding saves to keep It at 0-0.

Thurstable had a few opportunities on goal the best coming from Ryan Henshaw who took a free kick, but only manages to see it hit the wall and deflect wide. A couple of opportunities were also given to Josh Leavett and Billy Wales but failed to find the net.

At the start of the second half Thurstable upped their game, to put some pressure on Wycombe and put them on the back foot, but it was Wycombe who managed to find the first goal of the game.
It didn’t take Thurstable long to reply, with a free kick taken by Ryan Scillitoe, who swung it from the left, with the keeper catching the ball and falling into his own net. There were opportunities for both teams to go in front, and then unfortunately fro Tom Clarke, who made a professional foul, was sent off by being the last man in the 82 minute.

The game went to extra time with both teams looking to take the lead, Wycombe thought they took the lead when a penalty was given to Wycombe, but Ben Elmer stepped up and saved to keep the score line at 1-1, but unfortunately for Thurstable it was Wycombe who got the second goal just after the penalty. From this Thurstable looked to be fighting for that equalizer, when Wycombe found a third goal, which then made a few Thurstable heads drop, and within the last 7 minutes found another 2 goals which made the score line end 5-1 to Wycombe.

Result: Amersham and Wycombe 5 - 1 ACP Elite (Thurstable)
